It's Fall and things are changing!
Dad is doing well. He got his PIC out and now he is on pill antibiotic. Dad enjoys bbq'ing and hanging outside in this weather. He went with mom the other day to the grocery store and there was a little girl in line and she asked dad what happened to his leg. He told her he was in an accident and lost his leg. The girl then asked, "Will it grow back?" Dad thought this was so funny and cute to hear. It is good to hear dad laugh and tell his stories with excitement. Today I went over to have dinner and it was the first time I came downstairs and he greeted me with his usual happy, excited voice. Grandma was in the hospital last week because they thought she had a stroke, but it wasn't one. She came over for dinner tonight as well and she looked good. Enjoy the wonderful weather!

4 Months
Can't believe it has been four months this week! Dad is getting around great and even made his famous chili for mom and me on Wednesday. He had a doctor's appointment on Thursday and Cannada said everything looks great. He might even get fitted for his pro thesis in the next 6 weeks! Dad is finally getting his hair cut today because he is very paranoid since every time he goes for a hair cut, he ends up in the hospital. He got his hair cut the day of the accident and a few days before he was re-emitted due to infection. So let's cross our fingers he doesn't go back in or I don't think we will ever get him to cut his hair again! The three of us are going to dinner tonight. It is great to get him out of the house every once in a while! Have a great weekend!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Today was a great day! I came home from the lake and dad wanted to go to the casino. Mom, Dad, and I piled in my car and went to the casino. Dad sat down at a Black Jack table and the dealer was amazing. He was so funny. I haven't seen dad laugh that hard in over 4 months. The people at the table were all having a great time and it was wonderful to see dad enjoying life...normal life! And to make things better, dad and mom walked away $100 up! Dad seems to be a lot happier these days! Uncle Don and Aunt Cindy were in town this weekend as well to help out with grandma at Aunt Nancy's house. We hope you all enjoyed a blessed long weekend!
